Jigsaw Falling Into Place

I am in love. Absolutely head over heels in LOVE with Edinburgh. This town is hauntingly beautiful. The history is far more rich than any chocolate cake you could find in a pastry shop. Stories of execution and murder permeate through the narrow closes of the old town.

Transatlanticism

Hey everyone! Quick update to let you know that I made it to Edinburgh safe and sound! Stopping in NYC for two days was intense but definitely worth it. Now I am so glad to be settling in and adjusting to this insane time difference. Mom and Ralph have been so helpful...I don't think I could do this without them. As soon as I get the chance, I will add some photos of my flat and the city.

For now, here are some shots of NYC...

Famous black and white cookie from Sex and the City...thanks Mom!

Here is the first picture I took in Edinburgh...food!!! A lovely Scottish broth. Delicious (:

Miss you all so much!

Two Weeks

For those of you that don't know, the names of my posts are the titles of some of my favorite songs. This title could not be more fitting, seeing as I leave for Scotland in two weeks!

Life is getting pretty crazy around here! I’ve been keeping very busy here in Tennessee. There is SO much time and SO little to see…scratch that…reverse it (Willy Wonka reference ha).

Last Wednesday I went to a Death Cab for Cutie concert. It could not have been more perfect! They played some of my favorite songs and, to be honest, were more down to earth than I thought they'd be.

Arena Rockers

The day after the concert, I ventured to a cozy cabin outside of Chatanooga...

What could be better than a porch swing inside the cabin?!

This weekend was definitely full of adventure!!

Tennessee is insanely beautiful! I am so glad we were able to spend some time in the woods...

The big transatlantic trip takes place in a little less than 2 weeks from now and even though I am considerably unprepared, nothing has ever felt more right in my life than this trip.

Cheers

Summer Skin

The days are ticking by as expected, though significantly slower than I had hoped. I now only have 27 days left in the states, which isn’t long at all. I am beginning to feel more and more overwhelmed each day with the daunting fear of packing looming over my head. How on earth is someone to supposed to know what they need for the next four months in a foreign country?!?

Aside from packing, I have been trying to scarf down as much Mexican food as possible. Being from New Mexico, you are basically expected to be a chili lover. Scotland, however, seems more focused on haggis and other odd foods so foreign to NM…meaning…no green chili enchiladas for four solid months!!! I honestly don’t think I can survive that long without chili. If anyone knows how to go about sending enchiladas overseas, please let me know!

Anyways, enough rambling about my troubles and woes…here are some pictures of my hometown, Las Cruces!
